Pillar detail at the Sacre Couer.

Thought this was an image to go for B&W.
I like B&W images but almost every time I’ve tried to convert
one of mine into black and white I just wasn’t satisfied by the result.
So I would appreciate to hear your opinion on this one.

Another evening view of Paris.
Well as days are short here in Europe this time of the year evening views
are abundant among these Paris images of mine … hope you like it.

Don’t remember exactly where this was … I only remember
we were heading back to the hotel on our first day and
I just liked all the lights and movement on this corner.

Tour Montparnasse

Tour-Montparnasse-vW

One good thing about arriving early at your destination is you can
immediately get out and start the adventure of discovering the place.
So that’s what we did … we went out to get a bird view of
Paris from this tower, Tour Montparnasse.
It’s more then 200 meters high. (roughly 600 ft)

When we got there there was a sign saying clouds were
hanging to low to see anything so we decided to come back another day.
But we found it to be a very kind gesture to warn visitors
they wouldn’t be able to see anything!
And we did come back … the view was spectacular!

Anonymous alone

IMG_4154-750-vW

A view from our hotel window.
I made several images of this same spot, the entrance to Anvers metro station, I haven’t taken a good look at the RAW images yet but from what I saw in the camera viewer I think this one is my most favorite of them all. Because of that one individual and her shadow in the ray of light. Found it to express best the feeling I sometimes got while using Paris metro … a stream of people coming in and out … all together on their own way … all anonymous alone …

Today I ended uploading all my RAW images of Paris to the PC and
Microsoft’s RAW Image Viewer has been downloaded. This software is a blessing as it saves me a lot of hours of converting all these +/- 2.500 of RAW images into a Jpeg copy so I’m able to see what’s behind the little icons.
Now I can skip that boring (!) task and go straight to the fun part of enhancing and sharing the images with you! Nevertheless while in Paris I made some shots in Jpeg in the hope to be able to share them directly with you … didn’t happen … but I still want to share them with you. Therefore I’ll give you a link to a slideshow of these ‘straight from the camera’ images, no enhancing. They’ll give you an impression of the spots we visited and the images that will be appearing later on along with their description off course.
Here’s the link:
